Accommodation around Lake Chapala

Hi, can you recommend a good, realiabe site where I can see some nice 2 or 3-bedrooms appartments for a shor-term rent around Lake Chapala? What do you think about Downtown Chapala Area? I found couple of apartments renting really cheap in this area (only 500, even 350 dollars a month). Is it safe to book apartment via Internet and to go for such an inexpensive accomodation? What do you recommend to rent house or appartment?

For a luxurious homes on Lake Chapala you will probably need to pay around 1000 dollars (probably even higher than that) a month, but for an appartment this could be the possible price. Just be aware that some of these apartments need to be booked for at least 6 months (so thats probably the catch). If you are going with your family, I recommend that you rent a house in Chapala Haciendas (only 6km from Chapala). It's both very near to the Lake and with nice and big houses, with not so high renting fees.
