Accommodation near The Historic Commercial District of Jiufen?

Have any of you been to Jiufen? My boyfriend and I will be going at the beginning of April. I have been having a quick look around for hotels, but I have had no success so far. We would like to stay somewhere near the Historic Commercial District of Jiufen. Could you recommend any place?

There are quite some nice guest houses in that part of town, as I am sure you will be happy to hear. But there are not so many hotels, so if you are looking for some really nice and luxurious place, then you should probably not stay in Jiufen but in Taipei.

Oh, is it really that bad? I didn't know that. But that probably explains why my own search came up with no results. Never mind, I will keep on hoping for a great tip, but if not, can you then recommend some nice hotel in Taipei? Thanks for your help.
