I am going to Alaska in couple of weeks, and I am looking to spending some good time in Seward. I am looking for some budget accommodation and some of my friends recommended Marina motel. Since I have a prejudice toward any motel, and am wary of them, I would like to hear someones experience at that place. Any advice would be helpful.

Seward is really one of the most beautiful places in Alaska. The Marina Motel is really made for tourists who do not want to spend too much money on a hotel. It is rather small, basically set up place. It is very well equipped, clean, and staff there is nice. One of advantages is also the location. From the motel you can see Resurrection Bay, and you are also relatively near the Anchorage. It is a good starting point for any exploration in my opinion, and if you are really interested in exploring the nature more than hanging around your room, the Marina motel is more than good enough stay, and an excellent choice considering the price of the room.
