Hey there people! I have decided to go on a tour around Scandinavia with a couple of friends. We have never been there and we don’t know what to expect. It will be a backpacking tour and I think that it will be an awesome experience. However, I would like to know if any of you has ever done that and what was your experience like.

Well, first of all, you have to have in mind that Scandinavia is a region that is cold even during summer and you will have to bring warm clothes. The terrain is also rough and you will have to be physically well prepared for such an adventure. You can go there by sea or land, that is, you can go from city to city by ferry or by plane; these are the best options. Usually on such tours people visit capitals so you can do that as well.

Many people who go backpacking around Scandinavia usually go from one capital to another and in that way they miss all the beauty of the natural world of these countries. Of course, Oslo, Trondheim, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm, Bergen are all the places worth visiting but then you will have to stay on this tour for a very long time. I would suggest you to choose one country at a time and explore everything there and then to go to the next one. You will not miss anything in that way.

When you go to Scandinavia, you have a variety of choice as for how to spend your time there. For example, in Copenhagen you can go and see the Tivoli Gardens theme park, visit Christiania – the free city, visit Legolend. In Norway you can cruise Geirangerfjord. You can watch Aurora Borealis or the famous Northern Lights which is an experience you will remember your whole life. In Stockholm there is the famous Vasa Museum where you can see a whole ship that sank almost 400 years ago.
