Budget places you can stay in Sao Paulo?

I will be in Sao Paulo next week and I need information on budget hotels in the city as soon as possible. Do you have any recommendation? I am looking for an inexpensive, decent place, but of course, safety is very important to me; so safety is a guideline along with the price. Thanks a lot.

Hey I think that what you hear about Sao Paulo being ultra dangerous city is not true at all. You should avoid certain areas late at night, but nothing so very different then other big cities. That being said, I would suggest Tryp Iguatemi hotel in Rua Iguatemi. The price is around 70$ per night including breakfast. More then a decent place to stay, with a very nice location. The area seemed safe to me when I was there last time.
