Can I travel with bus to Cancun?

I think that Mexico is one of the best places in the world. I mean so many interesting towns and beautiful beaches – that is something that has to be seen. So, couple of friends of mine and I will be going to Mexico with rented car, but haven't decided yet on a destination. We might visit several places, and end up in Cancun, finally. Can we travel with bus to Cancun?

Of course there is. But, if you will be renting a car, why don't you go to Cancun with it? I mean, you could use a bus, but there are also many interesting things in Cancun and also in the surrounding area (that might be even more interesting). But I do know that renting a car for that long might be a problem for the wallet. Still, it does give you that freedom feeling...

Mexico has an excellent bus service, far superior to Canada or the U.S. It is also the cheapest way to get around Mexico.

Traveling on a bus can be an interesting experience as well. You have the opportunity to meet some unique people.

There is also the mini-bus line [Colectivo], which runs up and down the Mayan Riviera from Cancun to Tulum. This is simply the cheapest way to get around the Riviera. It costs 100 pesos to go from Cancun to Playa del Carmen and it costs 15 pesos to go anywhere around the Riviera.

I love traveling in the mini-vans because it is a lot of fun watching the faces of new tourists as they enter the bus, always apprehensive and unsure of what to expect.
