Hi! We have just come back to Puerto Escondido, and I even got the chance to go fishing over there, something that I had really wanted to do. You may not eat the fish, but with hooks that don't kill them, you can "catch and release". It made for a great afternoon of fun, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I am a keen fisher, recreationally, but I don't see the fun in catch and release. I go fishing to be able to see the result of a day's hard work on my plate, at the end of the day. Catch and release takes that pleasure away. I'd rather just go and eat in a fish restaurant, in that case, and I will go and do something else, like surfing, instead.

I think that is a really good idea! People can still engage in what is a popular sport, after all, but without doing damage to the local eco system. I think that these kind of policies are environmentally responsible and that they should be encouraged everywhere where fish are endangered.
