Cheap trip to Mozambique from US-is it possible?

I have never been to Africa before but I would really love to go. I am sure that it would be fantastic and I am really attracted to the country of Mozambique in particular. But the sad thing is... I am on a tight budget. Is a cheap trip to Mozambique from the US at all possible, or should I stop dreaming?

There are always expensive tourist trips that you can opt to go on while you get to Mozambique, but that you don't have to go on. I think that there are always cheaper options and that, once you enter into Mozambique, you can work things out. The major cost is going to be your plane ticket in any case, and I don't think there are any budget airlines serving Mozambique yet!

I have recently seen that Royal Air Maroc does very regular flights from New York to Mozambique. I am not sure which part of the United States you live in but this is definitely an option that would prove to be cheaper for you. Perhaps you could look into that?

I am very sure that those flights you mention were not around when I last went to Mozambique. This is about three years ago now. Do you know when they started doing those flights then, and whether they are actually still around? And what would the cost be of your average economy class ticket?
