China - Which city for one week

Hi, guys. I am planning a trip to China. I intend on spending there one week. Since I would prefer to visit only one town, not countryside and similar, I was wondering if someone could recommend me which town to visit. I will appreciate and consider all your suggestions. Thanks, guys.

Hi to you too. I was in China last month. I stayed in Shanghai for a whole week, but I had some side trips to Beijing. I couldnt stand being in just one city. On the 1st day I arrived to the airport and I used the time to see Jin Mao Tower. On the 2nd day I went to Shanghai Museum and Yu Yuan Gardens. That was all followed by souvenir shopping. On the 4th day I went to Beijing and visited its sights. I saw the Forbidden City and Tian'an Men Square. Therefore, I cant tell you what to do in one city a whole week, but I can suggest you to visit two cities instead. Itll make your trip more interesting.

I would suggest visiting Shanghai because the city has some exceptional European style buildings situated beside typical Chinese structures and ancient temples. Places like Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl Tower or Jinmao Tower and The Former French Concession are the top attraction of Shanghai.
