Hi, everybody. Because of my business, Ill have to travel to some countries in SE region of Asia, like Brunei, Indonesia and so. Ill be a lot in contact with different people, mostly common citizens. I am interesting in languages in this part of Asia. I speak English perfectly, but I am very weak with others. Will it be problem for understanding?

Hello. I dont think you should worry. I was last year in Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. I can tell you that I had no problems at all with understanding their locals. All of them understand and speak English quite well. There are few sections where I couldnt get along, mostly with old people. But, there were people who helped me with translation. If you consider staying longer in this region then you should pick up at least some of the local language. It can be quite useful, and may be essential. Bye.
