Hey everyone. Few years back I made a friend in Argentina. We still send mail to each other and he just told me something disturbing. He told me that crime rate in the usual tourist towns in Argentina are on the rise. Is that true? Can anyone confirm or disprove this?

Hello. Sadly violence and crime is common in Latin America, and it is becoming a bigger problem every day. Most crimes are committed on tourists so crime rate is rising in tourist towns. So if you plan to visit Argentina remember to be extra careful and travel in numbers. It is the safest way.

These days’ economic opportunities in Argentina are scarce and that’s why the crime is high. People are just trying to survive… it is the wrong way but poor education and the rising corruption is only helping crime to rise and it is only telling people that they can get away with anything.

Too bad really. It is a great country but the crime is the usual choice when people can’t find a proper job. Every step forward government makes to solve this, criminals just make two steps back. They are destroying their country and they don’t even care. All for the profit.
