Hi! Most of all, Id like to avoid the prime season in Alaska, and I was thinking to fly there in December. What can I hope for to see in that time of the year. Are the temperatures extremely low? And what about the daylight? Thanks for your help, Ill appreciate all informations you can give me.

If you thought that the summer is the only prime season in Alaska, you were wrong. December is the month full of events, beside Christmas. Im sure you didnt know youll have hunting season until the end of months. If you are interested in black bears or moose, youll be at the right place. At least you can try is once, just for fun.

Yes...come visit. That's the coldest, darkest time of year.

But it's the real Alaska. Rent a pair of snowshoes and go up to Denali State Park, say just North of Honolulu Creek, in the middle of the day so you will be in the light. Then just walk off the road a mile or so.

Hopefully it'll be about -30 or so. Take a lot of photos, if it's a clear sunny day you will love looking at them later. The frost on the snow in the sunlight is pretty amazing.
