I need a decent hotel in Hanoi. Ive decided to visit this city and Vietnam in general after reading many reports on the Vietnam War. I was so shocked and terribly sad when I learned what those poor people had to suffer during that bloodbath. And I felt en urge to go there and get to know more about their culture and mentality. Any hints?

I visited Hanoi once and it is a wonderful town, but I could never go back there for a very simple reason that I felt so upset about the fact that many historical sites and spots where these barbarian events took place are so near. I tried not to think about the bloodshed, but I couldnt help myself. I hope youll manage to have fun. I stayed at a four-star hotel called First Hotel Saigon. It was excellent and it offered more than just decent conditions. Its situated very near the airport and about 5 miles from centre. Each room is air-conditioned which is the amenity number one in countries with a climate like Vietnamese. This hotel also offers the airport pick-up service as wall as rent-a car.
