Directions for getting to Palisade, Colorado?

Is there anyone who could give me some directions on how to get to Palisade in Colorado? I would like to fly from the UK to the airport which is the nearest to Palisade, but I am not sure what to do next, and in which direction to go. I was thinking of renting a car and driving on my own, but before that, I should really find out more.

Well, having in mind that this will probably be your first time in Colorado, I would not advise you to try to find the way on your own, no matter how detailed and good directions you might think you have, because the airport is not at all at small distance from Palisade.

As far as I know the nearest airport to Palisades is the Colorado Springs Airport, so you might want to consider an option to hire a cab once you get there, because I am really not sure what the distance from Colorado Springs to Palisade is, and if there are any bus connections.

All I can tell you is that the distance between Colorado Springs (where the nearest airport is) and Palisade is about 200 miles. I am not sure if that is the distance that you want to cross on your own in a rented car. If you ask me, see if there are any direct bus lines.
