Next week I will be passing through Milan train station on my way to Rome and I will have plenty of luggage with me. This is the place where I will change trains and s such perhaps luggage checks will be expected. Hence the question; do they check luggage over there and what is the luggage allowance to take on board? Hope to hear from you soon.

Luggage allowance on board trains? That is something I have really never heard of. I know that there are some rules in regard to luggage on board trains, such as that you should not put luggage in the "hallway" where passengers pass as this is dangerous in case of fire and annoying in any case. But to my knowledge you are allowed to take as much as you can carry.
