Driving from Dubai to Muscat

Call me crazy, but I prefer driving to flying, not because Im afraid of heights or something like that. I just like the feeling when Im on a highway in full speed while the bass is beating from my powerful stereo. Im in Dubai and Id like to drive to Muscat. I suppose that roads are in good condition, but since Ive never been there I have to ask.

Of course that there are great highways in UAE but I think that in Oman there are only carriageways. Youre not jeopardizing your own life, but lives of other drivers and pedestrians.
