Driving through Jordan Valley

I recently agreed with a very good friend of mine, at least tentatively, to drive thorugh the river Jordan valley. We would buy a suitable second hand vehicle here in the UK and then drive down through greece and Turkey, The Lebanon and join the Jordan. On completion of our trip we'd sell the vehicle and fly back. What do you think?

I think your overall ideas are sound. Driving down, buying the vehicle and selling it once the holiday is over, flying back etc. that's all great. But about the exact destination, I am not so sure. Why the Jordan? Why one of the world's most intractable hostspots? The jordan valley is right in the midst of the conflict between the various palestinian factions, the Syrians, the Israelis etc. Do you really want to put yourself in jeopardy?
