Easter Island accommodation question

I'm going to Easter Island in January... high season, I know. I have two questions:
1. Should I book accommodation now? I've heard about people meeting the flights but if it's high season, won't the choices be few and expensive?
2. Can people recommend places? I don't want absolutely basic but I'd like to stay below $100-$125/night if possible. Most of the places I've seen listed are pushing $150-$200/night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
