Eastern Vs Western Europian Cities?

Hi! Am I right when I say that the countries listed under "Eastern Europe" are basically the ones that were members of the Soviet Bloc until 1989? Why is there still such a major distinction between Eastern and Western European Cities? What is your opinion on the issue? Would really like to hear what you think, so dont hesitate! Please.

Hi! Well, if you are planning to visit eastern towns, just hurry. Because they are becoming something like the major western tourist centers, but not just yet. Eastern town are quiet, peaceful places, with nice, friendly people and great food. Historic sites are quite amazing and you can hear the best played music in the world.
