Getting a taxi from CDG into the city? Is it a wisw thing to do?

Hi. When landing at Charles de Gaulle, is it possible to take a taxi into the city centre? What is the distance, and the price? Or is this not a wise thing to do in terms of value for money? What are your opinions and how did you get from CDG to the Paris city centre? Cheers

Of course it is possible, but I would not recommend you to do this. The airport is crowded with gypsy cab drivers who are swarming over the newly arriving tourists like flies. They will try to rip you off big time. It is said they have two price lists for French and for foreigners. Better take the bus, which is under 5.
