Getting to Tamarindo from Liberia?

I have been planning to go on a holiday this summer. It seems to me that it is a good idea to go to Costa Rica. It seems like a real good and attractive choice. However, as I have never been there before, I would like to go to Tamarindo and Liberia, as I have heard these are among the most interesting towns in Costa Rica. However, I am not sure how to get there, so I would need some suggestions. Thanks in advance.
