I’m traveling to Canada on a business trip and I’m thinking about the accommodation for that trip. It seems to me that I have read something about a hotel chain called Grand railway hotels and as I’m traveling to Calgary I want to know if there is such a hotel in this city. What can you tell me about those hotels?

I can tell you that this is one of the best places in Calgary. Fairmont Palliser Hotel is one from that luxurious chain of hotels in Canada which were built or financed by the railway company in order to improve and popularize this way of traveling. This turned to be a great idea and numerous hotels were built during the 20th century and they were all luxurious. Fairmont is one of the oldest and most luxurious hotels in Calgary and it is a pleasure to be accommodated there. Still I think that it would be great to stay there while you are in Calgary.

Oh dear! You are employed by some well off company aren’t you? I’m asking this because only such a company can afford to pay you accommodation at such a hotel as is Fairmont Palliser Hotel. Anyway, the most important point is that there is this hotel chain in Calgary and you can fulfill your wish and stay there. You can expect to be accommodated in a stylish room. The service is superb and you can expect to be pampered. I think that everyone who has enough money should stay in this hotel because it offers all that you can imagine.

Canada’s railway hotels are a series of grand hotels across the country, each a local and national landmark, and most of which are icons of Canadian history and architecture.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel for 3 nights beginning April 30th - May 2, 2009. We found the hotel to be clean and in a great location. However, the best part is the train that takes you up to the southern rim of the canyon on a trip that takes 2 hours and 15 minutes each way. But first, the hotel was clean and the beds comfortable. It was quiet and comfortable. They do have wireless internet access, but it's a bit spotty. Breakfast was served buffet style in their restaurant which is a short walk from the hotel and the price was $11.00 per person. We had drinks at the bar and were so watered down that they were hardly drinkable. Stay here for the train ride! It's a lot of fun and we elected the Parlor Class coach and it did not disappoint! This hotel is more like a stay at a Holiday Inn Express, however, it does have an impressive lobby.
