Hiring a driver while in Ethiopia

Would hiring a driver, while in Ethiopia, be a good idea or not? I will spend there two weeks, and it will be my first time there, so now I am trying to consider all my options for getting around, and based on what I got the chance to hear and read about this country, this sounds like the best one.

As I have heard, it is not even possible to rent a car in Ethiopia without hiring a driver at the same time, so I suppose that you won’t have much choice, if it is really true. But, the way I see it, it is not at all a bad idea, provided it is not too expensive, of course.
