Hotels in Lome, Togo, comparatively expensive?

Can anyone tell me something about the prices of hotels in Lome, Togo? I have some experience with African travel and am used to hotels that are not expensive. But I have been told that hotels in Lome are on the sharp side when it comes to prices. Can you tell me what to expect?

If you think that $30 a night is paying a lot of money for a decent hotel, then yes, hotels are very expensive. But if, like most normal people, you don't, then I would tell you to stop worrying about hotels in Lome being expensive and to just enjoy your trip to Togo!

My boyfriend and I have plans to travel to Togo as well, and Lome will be our first point of call, quite obviously, since that is where we are going to arrive. I would also be interested in hearing hotel tips and reviews. I would like to book in advance so any phone numbers would also be great.
