How do you reach Riviera Maya from Cancun Airport?

I guess you could call me a freelancer of traveling. I have never really liked our agencies and the deals and arrangements they offer, it just seems to me like a major rip off! Well, when I found out that via internet you can organize yourself the entire vacation, I though why would I need those agencies at all? So, for last few years, I have been visiting places around the world, and this time I am headed to Mexico and what I want to know is how do you reach Riviera Maya from Cancun Airport?

Well, I guess the easiest way would be to rent a car at the airport and just ask for a direction. On the other hand, going solo, without the arrangement is not what most people want. Simply because they see vacation as the only tine in year when everything is organized for them and they just have to enjoy and nothing more. Then again, you seem like someone who does not have financial problems, so visiting places around the globe is not expensive for you. In that case, I envy you. A lot.
