How far is Revelstoke from nearest airport?

I will arrive to Vancouver (or maybe Calgary, I am not sure yet) sometime next month. I will spend ten days there but would like to visit Revelstoke Mountain Resort and stay there for few days. What is the best way to get there? How far is Revelstoke from nearest airport?

There is an airport in Revelstoke. It is a small airport and it doesn’t service international Flights. So if you want to fly to Revelstoke, you have to fly to Calgary or Vancouver and then take another domestic flight to Revelstoke. There are also small charter planes that will take you to and from Vancouver or other major airports.

Why don’t you drive from Vancouver or Calgary? I am not particularly fond of flying and I consider driving much better option to reach some destination. OK, obviously you can’t drive a car from Europe, there is no other option but to take plane but when you are on the same land or continent, driving is the most pleasant way to travel.

That may be so but renting a car and taking care of it may not be the cheapest option, particularly if you are going to travel 300 or 400 miles. In such cases, I think that flying is better option. On the other hand, smaller distances are better covered with car, taxi or bus.
