How do I get to Corsica from North Europe? I will be visiting several countries in Northern Europe next summer, and I would like to use this opportunity to visit Corsica too. As I know it is always the best to plan in advance, I would like to know what the best way to travel there is. Thanks a lot

I think that there is no discussion about it – definitely the best way to go there is by plane. As far as I remember, there are four airports on the island – Ajaccio, Calvi, Bastia and Figari so you can choose your destination. But, I think that the smartest thing to do once you get to Corsica is to rent a car, because this island has extremely poor public transportation. Train lines just connect three biggest cities, and busses are very rare. But, it is worth visiting, you will see.

Yes, I also think it is worth visiting. I mean, it has fantastic beaches, really. They are great for any kind of summer activity – sunbathing and swimming at the first place, but also for snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing, kite surfing etc. The island also has fantastic long distance trails, so you can enjoy walking. As for getting there, I arrived from France, by boat. There are departures at any coastal town, I would say. I hope you will enjoy your stay on this fascinating island.
