How to get to Sandpoint from Seattle?

Hi, I’m planning to go to Schweitzer Mountain Resort for my winter holiday this winter. I’m staying in Sandpoint. I have never been there, so I could use few advices. For starters, how to get to Sandpoint from Seattle? What is the best way of traveling? I was thinking of driving, but I'm not sure how long would that take. Thanks.

Well, I suppose you can fly to Spokane and then rent a car to Sandpoint. It’s only 70 miles drive, which is about an hour. You can avoid hustle of driving across the entire state, which would last at least five or six hours. This would be most comfortable way, albeit probably most expensive one.

Just drive there. It’s about 360 miles, about 6 hour drive. And you don’t have many turns. Stay on I-90 until you reach Spokane, then turn north on Idaho 85. There are no bad roads or backwater byways, very straightforward route. And you can pack up all your equipment and avoid renting it when you get there.

I would also suggest driving, but if that’s too much fr you, go by train. There’s Amtrac station in Sandpoint, so you can go directly. I’m not sure if you can rnt a car in Sandpoint, and you’ll going to need one if you are going to Schweitzer Mountain Resort.
