I was going to fly from New York to Paris, and then connect in Paris to fly to Bordeaux. However, my plane was late and I missed the connection. So, I had to wait for 12 hours at the airport. I traveled with Air France, and I would like to know whether I can get some compensation.

Late flights are always a problem when you need to connect to another flight. Different companies usually have different policies. Some will readily compensate by refunding some of the money you paid, for instance. Also, some will compensate only if the delay was their fault (and not, say of the weather). In my experience, Air France has always taken care of their passengers, and did as much as possible to please them. They have many types of cases when they will compensate. However, for more particular information, I suggest you go to http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/local/avotreservice/
relationclientele.
