Is Alaska in May a good idea?

Hello. Im still in the planning process about my Alaska holyday. I know itll be great when I get there, but I just dont know nothing about the weather. Can anyone tell me more about seasonal changes? Or am I right if I choose May for my journey? Thanks for your help.
