Is Gabon different from other African countries? I have heard that it is more developed, but I still can’t believe because I’m always under the impression that almost all the countries on this continent are impoverished and with bad life conditions. Maybe I’m wrong and I frankly hope that I am. What kind of life can people expect in Gabon?

It is not easy to give you a precise answer to this question. Namely, it is true that Gabon is a bit different from its neighbors because it is in a better economic situation. The GDP is improving and people in this country can expect a better life, but it is all relative because Africa is a poor continent and in comparison to some European country Gabon is probably extremely poor. Still, I think that the best and the most objective answer can be provided by somebody who has lived in Gabon for at least a year so that you can hear both sides of the story. It is for sure that it is comparatively developed in African terms.
