I have seen some rafting offers for the Kiulu River in Malaysia (wild river rafting) and I would love to do something like that with my boyfriend. We have never done anything like that before, and are therefore very inexperienced. Do you think the Kiulu River is a good choice for us or not?

The Kiulu River is no peaceful stream where nothing could happen to you. It is one of the more dangerous rivers that you could think of, as it happens. But you will have an experienced instructor, I am assuming, who will look after you very well. So that should be quite safe then, right?

I wouldn't do it if I were you. While it is true that there are instructors and that you are very well protected in theory, something can still happen and if it does, it will be you who has to deal with it, and not those instructors. I am thinking about getting into an accident of even worse than that...
