Is Murree too far from Islamabad?

Believe it or not, I am planning to go to Pakistan. I know that it sounds strange but I have always wanted to see this country and now I have the opportunity. I am supposed to meet few associates in Muree next month. I am leaving for Islamabad in three weeks. Is Muree too far from Islamabad?

Muree is located some 54 Km from Islamabad. However, the access to Muree is not as easy as you may think, so you can count on one and a half hour of driving. At least, that was the situation few years ago when I was there. I heard that they are building some express highway so the situation may be better now than few years ago.

You are right. A couple of years ago Pakistani government decided to build the Muree Express highway over the pattern of motorway. It was supposed to be a dual carriage road. They have completed the construction of this highway recently and now you can access Muree from Islamabad in just 25 minutes.
