Is it dangerous to drive throw Somalia?

Hello there! I like adventures and in my opinion, it is a shame to carefully plan a trip or vacation because the best thing is to go where the road leads you, as that is the best way to have fun. This time the situation is a bit different as I’m going to Somalia and I don’t know how safe it is to drive through this country. I would give it a try. What do you think?

You must be kidding me? You want to go to Somalia on your vacation? Moreover, you plan to go there by a car and cruise along its streets, deserts and highroads? Then, my man, you must be out of your mind. Have you read anything about this country? I sincerely hope that you haven’t and I would put down your plan to pure lack of information. In other case, I think that you are a kamikaze. Somalia is a very dangerous country and I think that there are no legal, state apparatuses which could protect you. So, if you want to be on the safe side, go to some other African country.

Though I hate preaching, I must agree with the comment above. We are all going to sound like some boring parents but it is totally insane to go to Somalia, let alone drive through this country. It is in a constant war-like status. There are gangs of armed people attacking and kidnapping and there are even pirates along the coast. Can you imagine a country with no telecommunication system? If you can’t then this is Somalia. I would really recommend you not to even think about going there. Visit some country in Africa which is stable and safe.
