Is it expensive to stay at Lake Victoria, Uganda?

Of all the destinations in Uganda that I can choose for spending a week long holiday, this Lake Victoria seems to be the most attractive to me, so, what I would really appreciate to hear is if it is expensive to stay there, or it is affordable.
I mean, I suppose it is not cheap, but still, I don’t have a clue what to expect when it comes to prices.

Well, I would not call it an extraordinary expensive destination. I mean, I have certainly heard of more expensive ones. When it comes to the Lake Victoria and the accommodation there, you will have a wider range of options than you expect, so don’t worry, I am sure you will be able to find something in your taste.

Take me, for example; I have spent a memorable two week holiday last summer on lake Victoria, but it was mostly due to the fact that a great friend of mine has an apartment there, and so I did not have to spend money on the accommodation. Otherwise, it would hardly be so affordable.

If you start with the price of the airplane ticket, for example, I am sure you will realize that the ticket alone is not at all cheap. As for the accommodation, I can tell you that there are several options, but even for a decent place you will have to pay quite a sum. So, if you need an affordable destination, I am afraid that Lake Victoria is not really a good choice.
