Is it good idea to go to Osoyoos in winter?

My friends advised me to try spending two weeks somewhere in Okanagan area in British Columbia. I am not sure exactly where to go. I read some good reviews about nice little town called Osoyoos. Is it good idea to go to Osoyoos in winter? I would like to try some skiing and snowboarding, if possible.

Well, you can go there any time of the year, but I suggest spring, summer and fall. Don’t get me wrong. Winter is also nice but you won’t find any ski resorts in Osoyoos. However, there are some beautiful ski resorts in the Okanagan area where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding to your heart’s content.

The whole Okanagan area has mild climate and Osoyoos is no exception. In fact, the temperatures are among the highest in whole country and 38° Celsius is not uncommon in July or August. Winters are short and mild and don’t provide good conditions for skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports.

Yeah. If you want to ski than I suggest Thompson Okanagan and four excellent ski resorts with slopes and tracks for everyone. Osoyoos is great for summer vacation. Lake has average summer temperature of 24 degrees Celsius which makes it perfect for swimming, diving, snorkeling and other water sports. During winter lake is usually frozen and you can try ice fishing.
