Is there a permit to travel in Sudan?

a couple of friends of mine and I have been planning to take a trip to Sudan in a couple of weeks and we were wondering is there a permit to travel there since the war and the conflicts are taking place in Darfur. Can anyone give us some advice on this? Thanks a lot in advance! bye

Hi, a couple of friends of mine and I have stayed in Sudan on business last summer and it was really hard to get permission to enter the state. It was maybe, because that was the time when crises become a bit stronger. I advise you to call their embassy and check for requirements.

I have traveled to Sudan last year. I traveled there as a photo reporter so I was forced to obtain government's permission to enter the country for this purpose. Anyway, it wasn't that hard to get it at all, but I think that permission is needed. Have a nice stay there. bye
