Is there a way to prevent amoebic dysentery while in Maradi?

a couple of friends of mine and I have been planning to take a trip to Maradi, Niger in a couple of month and we have heard that we should be careful not to catch amoebic dysentery while there. Can anyone give us some advice on how to prevent it while there? Thanks in advance!

a couple of friends of mine and I have taken a trip to Maradi last year and we had a great time there. There are many ways to prevent this disease and the best one is to wash your hands whenever you can and never eat unless you had first washed your hands.

I had a great trip to Maradi last year with a couple of friends of mine. In order not to risk to get dysentery you should wash your hands, not use dirty towels, you are not supposed to eat fresh vegetables and of course you shouldn't use public toilets. I think that this should be enough.
