Japanese Love Hotels?

I have been thinking of going to Japan for more than a year now. Actually, I am interested in training in Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. That is the world centre of traditional aikido, the one great O sensei, Morihei Ueshiba practice. Also, that could be a great opportunity to learn something more about their culture. A friend told me that I should also learn about Japanese love hotels. I know that he was fooling around, but the fact is that I do not know what those hotels are.

The tradition and way of living in Japan in the past did not leave much place and/or time for much privacy, so love hotels were founded. I guess you already know what kind of hotels we are talking here, although I have heard that you can even rent rooms for standard stay. I know that the prices there are really much cheaper than in any business hotel, so why not? Well, I do not know if you will be able to withstand the special charms hotel has, but that is your choice only.
