I have recently heard that many of the airline companies have declared bankruptcy. It is a bit sad that some of those companies have been once truly great. I suppose that now many of other, smaller companies will gain much more unexpected profit, but I am not sure how the tourists will profit from less competition. I would like if someone could share his experiences, as I will probably fly soon to holiday.

I can agree that it might be a problem that now when many companies are not solvent anymore, there is less competition. However, that does not mean other companies will not try to gain as much passengers as possible. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Up until now, lesser companies have been focusing on smaller distances, cheaper flights, and consequently less service. However, they will probably see the opportunity to invest now, to raise the prices a bit, but to improve their service as much as possible in order to fill up the empty places the bankrupt companies have left. So, if you plan your trip soon, do not worry, it can only get better in my opinion.
