Hello there. I have a question for you all about the transportation available in Washington DC. I am going to travel there next month, and I will have my two young kids with me. They are three years old and two months old. I have been told that getting around public transportation is a hassle with kids and that it will cause me a lot of trouble. Is that right?

Basically it could be said that that was right, yes, in the case of the metro. Despite the fact that public transportation is supposed to be friendly for those who have young kids in prams and strollers, as well as for disabled people. But the very facilities that are supposed to enable these people easy access often break down (lifts and so on) and everyone who lives or works in Washington DC is aware of this problem, unfortunately!

Hi there! I agree that you are probably going to encounter some unpleasant surprises, and that there will be some situations in which you can not get two kids and a stroller out by yourself, without any help from others. I would suggest that you carry your youngest baby around in a sling instead. I mean, a toddler can walk stairs but you won't be able to carry a heavy stroller all the way up.

That sounds like a good idea, to me, but then it does not take away the pain of the metro system. The same goes for buses as well. They get extremely crowded sometimes, and with rude people who are not willing to stand up for you it is terrible at times! My advice? Avoid public transportation altogether if you possibly can!

Before the influx of automobiles in Washington, people got around by using Spokane's streetcar system. Many of the older side streets in Spokane still have visible streetcar rails embedded in them.

Today, mass transportation throughout the Spokane area is provided by the Spokane Transit Authority (STA). STA currently operates approximately 151 buses and has a service area that covers roughly 143 square miles.A large percentage of STA bus routes originate from the central hub, the STA Plaza, in downtown Spokane, Washington, DC.

You can eailsy travel through out Washington by bus with no of problems.
