Riviera maya family resort?

I am planning a trip to Mexico with my family. We made a decision to go to Riviera Maya as our final destination. I heard that is a splendid place for family vacation, do you agree with our choice? I wonder if you could in a way fill up some wholes with maybe some new info about this place. Have you ever been there?

Personally I think Riviera Maya is a great pick for a family vacation. It is great even for the kids; they can learn something about Maya civilization and have fun for example in a Xcaret or Xel-ha which are two ecological theme parks. I dont even want to start with all the water activities that are offered to you when you get there (fishing, snorkeling, etc), great crystal water and sand beaches. What more do you need for family vacation?
