Santa Monica-Oceana Hotel?

My wife and I are going to Santa Monica. We would like to spend our vacation there and are searching for some nice hotel to stay at. We are going on a true vacation which means that we are going there without kids. We would like to enjoy our stay as much as possible and thats why we need a good hotel. Can you tell me something about Oceana Hotel?

Oceana Hotel is in a very good place. Its rooms overlook the ocean and have a very nice view of the beaches. It is very near LA. This hotel is not perfect. Though the service is satisfactory and the rooms are clean, I was annoyed by having to wait for hours for checking out. What I also didnt like about the hotel was that not all rooms had air conditioning. Ive heard that some hotel suites do, but our room didnt. Luckily, we were staying at the hotel in a rainy October period when we didnt need it. The hotel has been redecorated recently and I sincerely hope that they did something to suit the guests needs.
