Hi! My son and I are presently in Riyadh and we’re fascinated with the historical treasures of the capital of the province (with the same name). The Arabian peninsula is generally full of historical sites but there is one spot on it that has some higher significance than just historical. Something is calling us to visit Mecca. Should I travel to Mecca from Riyadh by bus or by car?

Hi! Mecca is known for its religious significance and large numbers of pilgrims visit it each year. I can’t imagine someone visiting the Arabian peninsula without visiting Mecca. As such, Mecca is easily reachable from many directions. You know, when some place is so popular, it is made approachable however unavailable it actually is. I haven’t gone to Mecca but I think that you should go there by bus in case you are in Mecca for the first time. I hope you’ll be impressed.

I think that in case you are going by car, you may relax because whoever you ask for directions on your way to Mecca, he/she will be able to tell you where it is. It is the best-known place in the Arabian world. If you are going by car, you may have luck to avoid the crowds because very many people are visiting this sacred place and people often faint due to the lack of air; they lose their breath. They can also be exposed to very high heat. So, if you go by bus large number of tourists is guaranteed.

Yes, but if you go by car, this doesn’t guarantee no tourists and pilgrims at all. Look, you can choose the way you like more. If you are not a good driver and can’t drive to Mecca or if it is too expensive to you to pay for a driver, go by bus. You will be safe and won’t have to worry about anything – it will probably be an organized tour. In case, you don’t have an organized tour ask for SAPTCO bus company. If you are not a Muslim, you will be specially directed which way to go in case you travel by car.
