Surfing in Ipanema in winter?

I know that Ipanema is usually a great choice for surfing, but in summer time, and, what I would like to find out is whether or not it is great for surfing in winter as well, so, if there is anyone who could inform me about this, I would be grateful.

Well, it is a fact that winter is a bit less warm than summer in Ipanema, but the difference in temperature is usually obvious at night. As for surfing, people do surf in winter as well as in summer, so if that was your only preoccupation, then you do not have to worry about that anymore.
