To oman by ferry

I would like to travel from UAE to Oman by ferry. However, Ive read somewhere that there is no ferry service in Oman which sounds impossible since its a comparatively wealthy country by the sea, which is on top of all a famous tourist resort. Do you know something about this? I know that I can go by plane or car, but its interesting to travel by ferry and observe the coastal region.

Thats exactly what Ive heard! When you get to UAE youll have to ask maritime authorities about that. I also think that its virtually impossible that a country, whose one of the economic touchstones is tourism would allow such, if I may say, shortcoming. Because, all the countries that are by the sea have ferry services. I just think its a misunderstanding. Its most likely that they actually have ferry service but that it is not running so smoothly as it should and that there is no consistency. Maybe there are delays and cancellations of departures. If thats so, dont rely on ferry ride but catch a plane instead. Why causing yourself complications?
