Hi there . I am a 35 year old business person and I am flying to Bangkok in a week's time. After I have to do a job there first but than I want to see the place as well. I would also like to visit Chiang Mai. I am nearly there already and I might as well make use of the situation while I am there. Why not? I would to travel by train if that is at all possible. I suffer from car sickness and busses are the worst possible thing for that. I do not like traveling by car either, it makes me feel sick, sick, sick... So, is there a train connection, and if so how much would it be and do they run regularly?

Don’t worry anymore. There is a very good train connection between the two places I am pleased to say. It does take quite a while to get there but it does not cost a lot. In fact it is really cheap. It cost between £11 and £19 one way. It will take you up to 15 hours to get there but you can also go on the sleeper. They do have air conditioning on board and that makes the trip a lot more enjoyable. I love traveling by train myself and I hope you will too. Have a great time!
