Transferring at the Delhi Airport

I am going to New Delhi for some conference. I am planning maybe to stay a bit more then few days, just to get to know this city better while I am already there. But Ive got a bit worried when it comes to my transportation from the airport considering the fact that it is my first time there. How the transferring at the Delhi airport is functioning, do I need to worry?

The safest way is maybe to take a bus which is available 24 hours a day. That journey will last about 50 minutes.
