Using Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto? How long?

I will have to go from Tokyo to Kyoto. My friend suggested me that the best way is using Shinkansen. I dont like traveling, so I want to know some things. Can somebody tell me something about Using Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto? How long? Thank you in advance. I am really grateful for every information that you will give me.

Shinkansen (Japanese Bullet train) is a very fast way of traveling. It can reach speed of 300 km/h. And that is really fast. You will be very fast in Kyoto. You will probably think that it is not nice to travel with that kind of train. And you will probably think that it isnt comfortable in the train that goes that fast. This trains are very comfortable and cozy. It is very nice to travel with them. And you really dont have feeling that it goes that fast. So there is no need to worry about that trip. And even you dont like traveling, you will enjoy this one ( because it will be short).
