What do I need to know about Sri Lanka before I go?

Hello there. I am a 26-year old single woman and I am planning to book a trip too Sri Lanka soon. I am really looking forward to going and I have already packed a lot of my clothes! It will be great, I am sure! Can anybody give me some tips though. What do I need to know about specific things over there before I go! Please help/ Thank you very much and kind regards!

Sri Lanka is a very chaotic place. The easiest way to get around is most probably by rail - the trains are quite well organized. I am not sure whether you should risk driving, it is not always safe and the roads are unreliable. They have many Buddhist monuments over there, including huge Buddha statues... Well worth seeing!
